The PL-2000FC transponder provides a reliable and efficient way to transport 4x64G Fibre Channel services over 4x100G OTU4 uplinks, supporting flexible deployment in DWDM/OTN metro and DCI networks.
The PacketLight PL-2000FC is a 4×64G Fibre Channel transponder designed for reliable transport of 64G FC service over OTU4 for DWDM/OTN networks. The device provides the full demarcation point between the service and uplink, and is interoperable with any third party switch or router. The PL-2000FC integrateds EDFAs, 4-channel mux/demux, and an optical switch, providing a compact 1U design - a practical solution for organizations looking to deliver Fibre Channel connectivity while maintaining low cost, monitoring and management.
Flexible Design
The architecture of the PL-2000FC enables it to be deployed in a variety of applications and adapt to network growth and changes. The device is a full end-to-end solution in a compact footprint, integrating up to two EDFAs, mux/demux and optical switch.

The PL-2000FC encapsulates 4x64G FC client service into 4xOTU4 uplinks, enabling seamless connectivity and interoperability with any 3rd party standard transport device or OTN network (Figure 1). It also serves as a DWDM transponder, transmitting 64G FC over dark fiber and DWDM/OTN networks (Figure 2).
