QuantLR and PacketLight Networks demonstrate successful integration, while using the Quantum Secured keys to encrypt the data transport
Jerusalem, March 16, 2020 - QuantLR, a Quantum cryptography company, announced today that its Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology was successfully tested with PacketLight Networks optical layer transport technology, demonstrating that a secure data communication will be ready for mass deployment soon. The secure low-cost quantum cryptography solution, which successfully performs in challenging network scenarios, will cost 90% less than the competing products.
The integration of QuantLR’s QKD system with PacketLight’s Layer-1 transponder demonstrates the creation of quantum secured keys in a rate of 10k secured bits per second for 40km. The keys were used to encrypt and decrypt data in a rate of 100 Giga bits per second.
The next phase is to test the technology throughout several commercial deployments. QuantLR is planning a series of field trials to test the deployment of quantum key distribution over different fiber lines, owned and operated by different communication vendors and operators.
