As today’s networks grow in capacity, size and complexity, they involve multiple equipment types and become more and more complicated to monitor and manage. Usually, each device whether it is an Ethernet switch, a storage appliance, UPS system or CCTV cameras has a separate monitoring software application. To provide remote management access for monitoring and managing these different devices, there usually is a requirement to install additional service such as DSL line or other alternatives which increases the solution OPEX. In addition, with each appliance having different bandwidth needs, monitoring entire network can become cumbersome and costly.
