WDM Solutions for Carriers and Service Providers |
Recent years have seen a tremendous growth in the transport requirements over metro and wide area networks. In order to maximize the services and offerings to their customers, optical multiplexing has become a popular solution for service providers. PacketLight networks provides carrier grade products for Metro and access solutions transferring up to 32 channels of any service interface mix from 2Mbps up to 10Gbps in a point-to-point, linear add and drop and ring infrastructure. The compact cost effective 1U architecture is easy to install and scale up to necessary size as carriers can grow and invest as their services and customer base or needs grow.
PacketLight product set enables carriers to offer high bandwidth, low latency, fully managed services while enabling monitoring and management of the fibers and protocols.
For carriers using a single ADM ring, as capacity needs grow or additional metro Ethernet services need to be added to these rings, WDM is the simplest way of growing the existing network to meet the evolving demands and provide immediate ROI.
PacketLight's WDM products can merge existing rings into a CWDM or DWDM network. The example below shows three ADM rings with three break-out nodes, together with a protected network running concurrently.
PacketLight products act not only as connectivity for the ADM rings, but also switches to the protected network over CWDM/DWDM when necessary. This is highly efficient usage of CWDM and DWDM network infrastructure.
